More updatesWhile it’s unlikely to result in new customers, we’re immensely proud that thousands of Japanese people will encounter the Vetico name next year. Specifically, on the shirt worn by David van Dam, who is campaigning for KiKa.
“It’s a long story, but basically I have lost a number of friends and family members to cancer. My wife and I and our three children are happy and healthy, but that’s absolutely not a given for everyone. I started campaigning for KiKa in 2017.”
“It started with the New York Marathon in 2017, where I raised €12,000. I was only planning to do it once, but when I got home, I thought: I’m going to carry on. Since then, I’ve been looking everywhere for ways to raise money. For example, by selling Christmas bread, running raffles, bottle deposit campaigns… I even had my high school students design a carnival badge. Everything for a good cause.”
“Running marathons is the largest source of funds, and I train a lot to be able to do that. Including in Oss and the surrounding region. When I found out that Vetico often supports charities, I simply sent them an email. And here we are!”
“The Tokyo Marathon, in March next year. It’s still a long way off, but I’m already training. If all goes well, you’ll see me running through the streets of Tokyo with Vetico on my shirt.”
“I’ve already reached that goal! Thanks to the help of Vetico and numerous other companies. I’m both delighted and proud about all the support, because the money is very much needed for further cancer research.”
“The most important is to make sure that I finish the marathon. That’s why I keep training and running marathons. My focus will gradually shift to Tokyo this fall. But I’m secretly looking forward to it already!” (David winks and continues:) “And while I’m there, I’ll keep my eye out for any unusual packaging for Vetico. Who knows, perhaps that’s a way I can return the favor!”
